Introduction to 3D Printers [Or: Time to learn to use a 3D printer!]
3D Printers are being talked about a lot recently, but wouldn’t it be
good to use one?
Maker Space and Gateshead Libraries will be running a workshop to get
you up to speed on 3D printing on
1 March, from 10:00 till 14:00
Gateshead Central Library,
Prince Consort Rd,
Gateshead
NE8 4LN
It is aimed at those interested in getting to grips with the technical aspects of 3D printing,
from the principles to the practice.
The one day course will cover:
- What ‘3D printing’ actually means,
- The stages of creating an object for printing,
- A practical introduction to different tools that can be used to
design an object for printing, - 3D printers will actually be printing on the day
+ plenty of opportunities to ask questions
With the skills the course will help you develop, you can design an
object and come down to Maker Space (central Newcastle) and print
something out yourself! (Help will be on hand should you want it…)
The course is free, thanks to the Carnegie UK Trust, Gateshead
Libraries and the volunteers at Maker Space.
